Meet Lisa Purcell

Lisa Purcell’s path to becoming an author has been anything but ordinary. A lifelong storyteller, she worked in the television industry for more than two decades as a producer, reporter, and the host and creator of her own show, Life and Lyrics. Along the way, she earned three Emmy nominations for her work.

Lisa has also penned a blog, Lee Lee’s Room, and has written screenplays and commercials. She appeared in a documentary about her favorite musician, Bruce Springsteen, and even joined SiriusXM’s E Street Radio as a special guest host. Lisa has always found inspiration in the everyday magic that connects us all. She has also navigated life-changing moments, including a thyroid cancer diagnosis in her 30s—each experience deepening her understanding of resilience and hope.

Her debut middle-grade novel, Magik Field, combines her love of storytelling with the thrill of the game—adding a twist that makes it unforgettable. But while baseball plays a role, Lisa’s stories go far beyond the diamond. With more books already in motion and on the horizon, she’s only just getting started.
